Finland
Nordnet entered the Finnish market in 2005, and more than doubled in size through the acquisition of Finland's biggest internet broker eQ in 2009. Nordnet has a leading position as an online bank in Finland and growth is strong. Almost one-tenth of Finland's shareholders are Nordnet customers, and an increasing number are finding their way to our competitive products.
Finnish savers are extremely aware of risks and their investment patterns differ somewhat from those of the other Nordic countries. A key to the product range is therefore to be able to provide alternatives to investing in stocks. Nordnet has had a savings account with no fixed terms and free withdrawals for some time, but is noticing an increased demand for fixed-term accounts, which will be launched soon.
In recent years Nordnet in Finland has boosted its presence online and throughout the country with activities aimed at savers, and the response has been great. Nordnet is also pushing developments on the web and a number of competitors have been forced to improve their online services. We think that is great news and all to the benefit of savers! We are also continuing to focus on customer dialogue over the internet - Nordnet has a strong position on Facebook and on its own blog and we will make our presence even more noticeable to attract more people to our sites.
Nordnet has an office in Helsinki, from which customer service, marketing and sales on the Finnish market is handled. We will gain the Finnish savers' trust with active, close customer dialogue.
